The MTV Movie Awards Nominations were announced this week. You can you can take a look at them over here, and if you feel inspired by the nominees you can vote for your favorites over here.By looking at the categories I just found it hilarious that Anne Hathaway wasn't even able to get an MTV Movie Award nomination. Her two Devil co-stars, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt were the ones getting all the awards attention back in January and February, and here it was no different. Meryl got a nod for Best Villain and Emily got two nods, one for Best Breakthrough Performance and Best Comedic Performance. I'm really happy that Emily is getting all the accolades she deserves and the she is being recognized by the general public. She's got a great career ahead of her. Also I'd love to see Meryl win an award for what was my favorite performance of last year.
Aside from those, the nominations overall were pretty bad. The Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet category is just plain stupid, why vote for something I haven't seen? Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix is probably going to turn out to be the best film in that category.
300 got plenty of nominations as well, including one for Best Movie and Best Performance for Gerard Butler; Jack Sparrow and company also are up for Best Movie and the great Bill Nighy is up for Best Villain.

Meryl will win for best villain, I think. Her competition is pitiful. And Emily will probably win breakthrough. Best comedic performance will go to Borat.

ReplyDeletela verdadera obra maestra de la serie de hannibal lecter la hizo el mejor de los directores que han abordado al personaje (y el mejor entre muchos otros también): michael mann.
manhunter ni siquiera es la película que propicia el lugar de "anticipa elementos de su filmografía ulterior": se defiende por sí sola y logra momentos altísimos, como aquel del tigre que sólo se limitaron a copiar en red dragon, entre otros.
hay que notar: la música new age que no se detiene y, de alguna extraña manera, ensombrece el ambiente magistralmente, pero sobre el will graham tan PERFECTO de william petersen (sí, el de csi!): un personaje híper neurótico, intransigente en su cerrazón, genio que dialoga consigo mismo logrando encontrar pistas decisivas, pero también elementos que reconstruyen su verdadero rol en la cadena de la justicia. revisar a ese personaje era innecesario, mucho más con edward norton a cargo del papel.
obra maestra absoluta.

Pienso que los MTV Awards no son unos premios tan serios como puedan ser los Oscar o los Globos de Oro, en estos ultimos se premia mas la calidad cinematografica, y en los MTV Awards no veo un criterio de seleccion claro para la nominacion (que esten nominados Beyonce o Justin Timberlake creo qme me dan un poco la razon)

rc - thanks for visiting my blog. In a while I'll go visit yours. I actually don't think Anne Hathaway is bad actress per se. I thought she was terrific in Brokeback Mountain and I think she could get better by taking more of these dramatic roles and leave princesses behind. I also liked her in The Devil Wears Prada but Streep, Blunt, and Tucci completely overshadowed her. I've also read that she is quite good in Becoming Jane and that she got the english accent spot on. Hopefully she'll get more recognition for her work in this movie.

I have always loved the category Best Villain and never has someone deserved it more that Miranda. Did you heard that an early choice to play Andy was Rachel McAdams? That would have been sooo weird! Anyway I think that Anne wasn't bad in the movie - the other characters just were more fun and well writen!
